6 Fun Ways to Practice Math Over the Summer


As we approach the end of the school year, it's time to start thinking about ways to help our students keep their math skills sharp over the summer break.
We all know that the summer slide is a real thing, but with a little bit of creativity and some fun activities, we can help our students maintain their math skills and even make progress!

Here are some ideas for ways to practice math over the summer:

1. Math Games:
Encourage your students to play math games with family and friends over the summer. There are plenty of fun games that can help students practice their math skills, such as Shut the Box, Monopoly, Math Dice, and Set.


2. Math Worksheets:

You can also send home math worksheets for students to complete over the summer. Make sure to choose worksheets that are fun and engaging, and include a mix of different math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

3. Math Websites and Apps:
There are plenty of great math websites and apps that your students can use over the summer to practice their math skills. Some popular options include IXL, Math Playground, Prodigy, and SplashLearn.

4. Math Books:
Encourage your students to read math books over the summer. There are plenty of great options out there, such as I'm Trying to Love Math by Bethany Barton, The Math Curse by Jon Scieszka and Sir Cumference and the First Round Table by Cindy Neuschwander.
