The Best Book Deals this Week August 30, 2020

I often get lots of questions from other teachers about building a classroom library without breaking the bank, so each week, I share 4-7 books that are on sale right now. I also share books that YOU might like to read as well!

If you see other great deals, I'd love if you would let me know about them!

This post contains affiliate links. I earn a small commission each time someone makes a purchase using one of my links, which helps to support the blog.  All opinions are my own and I only promote brands and products that I have used myself and truly love.

BOOK DEALS YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS WEEK!

My students love the Stink and Judy Moody book series, and I love them too! There are so many forms of figurative language which is a fairly big standard for third and fourth graders.  This week, the Kindle version of Judy Moody and Stink: The Big Bad Blackout is on sale for 88 percent off!

This book is also timely right now because it is about a hurricane, and it is hurricane season right now. If you use the Lucy Calkins Units of Study, this book would be a great tie-in for guided reading or a read aloud during the 4th grade Extreme Weather Unit (unit 2).

What if Everybody Said That is a perfect Back to School read aloud.  The main character says things that might make someone feel bad, and is asked, "What if Everybody said that?"  The illustrations show the effect that would happen if everybody did say that.

Not only is it a great book to share with your students to talk about not hurting other people's feelings, but it is great for teaching about cause and effect!  The kindle version is free if you have Kindle Unlimited, and the hardcover version is over % off on Amazon right now!

What if Everybody Thought That? is another book by the same author that helps kids to see that we can't always judge a book by it's cover.  What if we thought that a kid in a wheelchair couldn't play, or that a kid who had a hard time reading wasn't smart?  We might be wrong.  A perfect book for Social Emotional Learning and acceptance!

My students love the Wayside School series from author, Louis Sachar!  His newest book in the series, Wayside School Beneath the Cloud of Doom is on sale for almost 60% off!  Your students will love the characters and the theme of getting ready for testing as a cloud of doom hovers over them! And, don't forget to read the Note from the author if you read it out loud!

What books have you been reading lately? Leave a comment below to let me know!  I am always looking for new books to read!
