The Best Book Deals this Week October 11, 2020

BOOK DEALS YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS WEEK!

Creepy Pair of Underwear is a fun story about a brave little bunny and some creepy underwear - because what kid doesn't love a book about underwear? In this story, little Jasper Bunny gets a new pair of underwear, but when the lights go out, the underwear start to glow in the dark.  They are downright creepy, and he tries to get rid of them, but, they keep coming back!  Your students will love this one!

Creepy Carrots is written by the same author of Creepy Underwear, and is just as funny! In this story, Jasper loves eating carrots, but what does he do when the carrots start following him?

My students always love graphic novels and realistic fiction.  The Dork Diaries series is always a big hit.  You can get the 14th book in the series, Tales From a Not-So Best Friend Forever for a great deal right now!

One of my students got hooked on the Kingdom of Wrenly series last year and got several other students in the class hooked on it too! The Cat in the Hat is a classic for students learning to read (particularly sight words), but there are so many other skills that can be taught with this book including: onomatopoeia, similes, and how to write dialogue and paragraphs!  It's on sale right now.

I love the book Halloween Hustle!  It is a fun Halloween book written in rhyme.  It would make a great mentor text for teaching about writing poetry!

There Was An Old Mummy Who Swallowed a Spider is a fun Halloween take on the Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly.  Your students will love this circular story full of repetition that they can read along with!

How to Build A Haunted House is a great read about creatures of all types getting together to build a house for a Vampire family in need.  You will love not only the story of helping others out, but also the fun rhymes throughout!

I have loved the last two books by Rachel Hollis, Girl, Wash Your Face and  Girl, Stop Apologizing, so, when I learned that she had a new book coming up about dealing with those hard seasons of life (divorce, job loss, death of a loved one) I knew I wanted to read it, particularly since I have just gone through some hard seasons of life.  Didn't See That Coming just came out, so it is on sale for 30% off at Amazon right now.  The other two books are ALSO on sale (50% off)!

If you are a fan of the tv show, The Office, you will love this kid friendly book adaptation.  The Office: A Day at Dunder Miflin Elementary tells the story of Michael Scott who is asked by his teacher to become line leader.  He tells her that he needs a few days to start so that his mom can make him a water bottle that says "World's Best Line Leader".  Can he live up to that title? A great lesson in asking for help!

Bunheads by dancer Misty Copeland tells the story of  a young Misty, who discovers her love of dance through the Ballet, Coppélia.  At her very first dance lesson, the teacher tells them the story of the ballet that they will be performing at their upcoming recital.  Perfect for any ballet lover!

Where the Wild Things Are has been a favorite of mine since I was a child!  I love the story of little Max who gets in trouble after a night of making mischief of one kind and another.  After being sent to his room, he travels off to a land of Wild Things where he has a phenomenal time, but he realizes that his heart is at home.
