What is subitizing?

Subitizing is the ability to identify the number of a small group of objects without counting.  It's a skill we use when we look at dominoes or dice!  Subitizing or number sense is an important skill for math.

In this subitizing practice, students should be able to look at the pictures and determine the number it represents. However, students who are still practicing this skill can count any numbers they don't immediately recognize.

When Can I  Use These Thanksgiving Subitizing Color by Number Worksheets?
